Hope Links Learning Center provides both small group instruction and individualized instruction; both have their own unique benefits for students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental delays.
- Small group instruction:
- Allows for more individualized attention from the teacher.
- Allows for peer interaction and socialization.
- Provides opportunities for students to practice their skills and collaborate with their peers.
- Allows for differentiated instruction and the use of different teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students in the group.
- Individualized instruction:
- Allows for highly specialized and targeted instruction to meet the unique needs of the student.
- Provides opportunities for students to work at their own pace, which can be beneficial for those with ASD (and related deficits) who may struggle with pacing in a traditional classroom setting.
- Allows for real-time assessment and adjustments to instruction based on the student's progress.
- Provides opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning and develop autonomy and self-directedness.
Both types of instruction can be beneficial for students with ASD, and can be used in combination to provide a comprehensive and effective educational experience. It's important to note that different children with ASD (and related deficits) may have different needs, so the instruction provided should be tailored to the individual child's needs.
